Zoo day

We went to the Oakland zoo with Matt's whole family to celebrate Ellie's 2nd birthday. Nora loved all the animals (she's finally old enough to actually look at stuff now), but it was HOT... we were melting by the end. We need to go back another day when it's much cooler.

I love this first set of three pictures. The first animals we saw were tigers, and Nora thought it was just the coolest thing.

I think this was the first time I have ever actually seen the lions at the zoo. It was pretty cool.

Unfortunately, we did the large animals (giraffe, lion, elephants, zebra) last. They're Owen's favorites, but by that point we were so hot and just done that we barely spent any time there at all. We'll have to go back again so Nora can see them better.

Last day of soccer

Owen loved playing soccer this summer and was sad when it ended. We enjoyed getting to watch him each week. He's kind of a spaz, but we love it. :)

Just had to get a picture of these super cute jellies. I love her little toes.

And I love being able to see her cute squishy foot through the bottom. :)

Memorial Day Big Sur campout!

Every Memorial Day weekend Matt's home ward (and most of the stake) goes to Big Sur to camp. We decided to go along this year since both of our families would be there. We were not quite prepared for how chilly it was, but we had fun anyway.

This is the first time we have ever camped with a baby, so we had to figure out how to keep her warm at night (not to mention how to keep her from getting up and crawling around the tent).

She stayed warm all night long (unlike Matt and me) and was a happy girl in the morning!

On the last morning before we left, I realized that we hadn't taken a family camping picture. This was the result... we all look suuuuper tired. Maybe we should take a picture first next time. :)
