The Farrells

The Farrells
Matt, Nicki, Owen and Nora live in the San Francisco Bay area. Matt is a research analyst at CBRE and is loving his job. Nicki spends her time playing with Owen and Nora, reading, crafting, and taking lots of pictures. Owen loves to read, sing, throw toys, and quote movies. Nora is growing quickly and loves to be the center of attention. We have a wonderful life!

Baby Jack

Jackson Robert Farrell joined us (very quickly) on April 26, 2014 at 6:56 am (12 days early!). My labor was only 3.5 hours from start to finish, and we BARELY made it to the hospital. Like, really... it was pretty stressful. Jackson was born 11 minutes after we walked in. Everything went well, however, and this has been my easiest recovery so far. He was 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and is my fairest kid. He's got strawberry blonde hair and pretty light eyes. We'll see if he stays that light. He has the same little chin cleft that Nora and Owen (and I) do. He has Nora's nose and the Farrell mouth that all my kids have. Besides that, he has his own look, though his facial expressions remind us of Owen when he was an infant.

Matt's mom met us at the hospital and switched cars with us and took Nora and Owen. They had a full day of playing at the park, going to McDonalds, getting frozen yogurt, and even going to one of Owen's friend's birthday parties. They were super excited to come back and meet their little brother. Matt and I stayed one night in the hospital and then checked out by 11 am the next day - it's a lot more enjoyable (not to mention cheaper) to recover at home than in a hospital. Having three kids has been a little bit insane so far, but Matt and I just laugh at the craziness. I don't think our house will ever be clean again. :) Anyway, here are some photos. Enjoy!

Brand new!

7lbs, 8oz, my tiniest baby!

Wrinkly little old man face.

So happy he's here!

Proud sister and brother.

First family photo!

Owen is so sweet with Jackson - and SO helpful. What a blessing it is to have him as my first kid... if Nora had been first, we may not have had any more. ;)

The kids got new jammies for their sibling gifts. Nora has worn hers every night since.

Big sister/brother stickers from the nurse!

Easter and Mother's Day 2014

Our primary did an Easter egg hunt during the week of Easter. Owen invited one of his best friends from school, a sweet little boy named Toby. They had lots of fun!

The next day we had a cousin Easter egg hunt at grandma Bromley's house.

Nora, Owen, Aubrey, Katelyn, and Lily.

Jack was born one week after this picture!

Easter morning at our house, the kids got to find their Easter baskets. Owen got his own ream of paper, his own scissors, and his own tape. Nora got Frozen.

Love these two squishies... they had a great time dyeing eggs!

Ninja turtle eggs!

Mother's day a few weeks later was Jack's first time at church!

For mother's day dinner we went to my parent's house and had dinner with grandma and grandpa Bromley, grandma Auman, and my whole family. This was Jack's first cousin picture!

Another of our family night lessons... we built Lehi's vision of the tree of life with Fisher-Price people. The kids loved it.

The iron rod, Lehi, Sariah, Sam, and Nephi (Woody, because he's tall in stature, obviously).

The great and spacious building. ;)

David and Goliath...

We act out scripture stories for FHE... and Nora wanted a turn as Goliath.

Springtime photos

We had a pretty eventful spring with my birthday, Lamb of God performances, General Conference, and Jackson's birth. Here are some of the things we did:

These kids love being goofy together.

Tape piggies.

Putting stickers in their general conference notebooks.

Apostle bags for general conference.

Eating cinnamon rolls and making bracelets during general conference.

We've started acting out scripture stories for family night. This one was Daniel and the lion's den.

Nora as King Darius.

Owen as Daniel in the lion's den.

Owen and the creepiest puppet I've ever seen in my life. Seriously, that thing was frightening.

Some of the cute spring projects Owen did in his class.

Cutie O-boy and his grass that he grew in TK.

Helping grandma plant strawberries.

We also planted pumpkins. These kids can hardly wait till they grow!

Some of the plants nearly died the very first day... these kids couldn't keep their feet off of them.

Grandma supervising.

While waiting to go in the auditorium for Lamb of God at the Interstake Center, Matt and the kids did a photoshoot on temple grounds. I will never get tired of the crazy faces my kids make. These pictures crack me up every single time. Be warned, there are a lot of pictures coming!

Finally! A good one....

After the show... this was the last performance I made it to before Jack was born.

Lindsay sang the part of Mary of Bethany that night. She and Jason were in the choir.

Another scripture story FHE - this one was David and Goliath.

Planting flowers in our back patio.

Nora went with daddy and picked out all the flowers.

Even Jack made an appearance!
