Tahoe part 2

We had a couples night out to the North Shore resort. It was basically deserted, but Matt and I decided it would be SO fun to come back during the winter.

The three couples - Jon and Sarah, Matt and me, Lindsay and Jason.

Matt's dad rented a kayak and a paddleboard for us to use on the lake. We had SO much fun with them. Matt's always wanted to try paddleboarding... can you tell how happy he is in this picture? :)

The second day we went back to the beach, Matt's parents went early and scored us the perfect spot. The little kids had this awesome little pool to play in surrounded by rocks. They loved it!

Jon, true to form, caught several fish and crawfish/crawdads/crabs (I don't actually even know what they were) and built them a little pool. It was quite the attraction for a little while.

Attempting to fish in the Truckee river. This river is apparently very popular - we had probably over 100 rafts float past us as we were trying to fish, which made it kind of difficult.

Jon did manage to catch one pretty rainbow trout.

We broke in Owen's new fishing pole on the river... he was more interested in throwing things into the water, though, and since neither Matt nor I have a fishing license, we just kind of dropped the line in the water, got it wet, and called it good. :)

Everyone went bowling on the last day. Nora sat on grandpa's lap while she waited for Matt and me to bowl.

This is Owen's pre-bowling position. He pushes the ball from here and it takes for-ev-er to get down to the other end. Hilarious. :)

End of the game! We got in the car and headed home from here. What a great reunion!

Tahoe!

We spent a great week up at Lake Tahoe with Matt's family for the Farrell family reunion. We hung out together around the house, spent a couple days at the lake, had a girls' day and a boys' day, and just had a great time in general. What a beautiful place Tahoe is! We loved it.

Owen getting used to the water. It was actually surprisingly warm... we didn't get enough rain last winter, which means little snow in the mountains, which means that the lake is a lot warmer than normal. We loved it!

Poor Owen got sunscreen in his eye and got overheated in the sun. He got to cuddle with grandma instead, and fell almost immediately asleep.

Girls day! We had lunch together and then window shopped around the town. We all threw pennies in this cute wishing well.... with Fij, Michelle, Lindsay, Sarah, Jenny, and Debbie

Owen got sick and had a hard couple of days. Grandma made sure to cuddle him a lot.
